Welcome to Lakeside Perennial & Native Plant Nursery!
We are the Klemm family: Marilyn and Bruce. We love living the rural lake life and experiencing the wildlife it has to offer. It is the mission of our nursery is to help other’s return natural habitat to their backyard, no matter how large or small their space may be.
The name Lakeside Perennial & Native Plant Nursery was inspired by the natural setting of our property on Half Mile Lake located in NE Kent County. Our property is home to hundreds of Wild Lupine which is the only food source for the endangered Kerner Blue Butterfly’s caterpillar.
Whether you are an experienced native gardener or new to native plants upon your arrival you will be greeted by our natural woodland setting and wildlife. We are currently offering ferns, shade perennials, sun-loving perennials, perennials for dry-sandy conditions, perennials for wet conditions, and grasses.
We encourage you to help support your regions' natural habitat and plant natives! We look forward to seeing you soon!

Why plant natives?
Native plants are easier to grow and maintain than non-natives. This is because native plants are already adapted to local soils and climate changes. Typically this means they also require less watering and little-to-no fertilizer. Just imagine fields filled with wildflowers, and maintenance free!
